Discover the secrets of the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios
There are places in Walt Disney World that mark a before and after in every trip... and one of them, without a doubt, is the imposing Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Its silhouette rises at the end of Sunset Boulevard, mysterious, majestic and a bit unsettling. Since opening its doors in 1994, this tower has become the most recognizable icon of Disney's Hollywood Studios... and also one of the most enigmatic.
In Magic Holidays we want to tell you the secrets of the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios, an attraction that combines history, legend and a dose of adrenaline that leaves its mark.

🌩️ The stormy night that changed the hotel's destiny
Legend has it that one night in 1939, five guests of the luxurious Hollywood Tower Hotel boarded the elevator to their rooms. Outside, a thunderstorm was shaking Los Angeles... and just as the elevator began to move, lightning struck the building.
No one saw those passengers again. The elevator disappeared, and with it, all its occupants. Since then, the hotel was closed, trapped in time, with echoes of another dimension.
When you walk through the hotel lobby, before getting on the elevator, every detail seems to tell you that story:
suitcases still waiting for their owners, an old radio still playing, and a layer of dust that covers the memories of a night that time preferred to forget...

👻 The spectral bellhop: the ghost of Hollywood Tower Hotel
If you ever walk around the area after seeing Fantasmic!, look up at the tower. In one of the windows, right where the "accident" occurred, you can see the silhouette of a motionless man....
They say it is the spectral bellboyThe one who operated the elevator when the lightning struck. Some visitors claim to have seen him moving, as if he was still doing his job, trapped between dimensions.

🏨 A design that blends beauty and mystery
Beyond terror, the building is a true architectural masterpiece. Inspired by the Los Angeles hotels of the 1930s, it combines Art Deco style with Neo-Arabic touches, creating an atmosphere that is as haunting as it is elegant.
A detail that few know: the top of the tower was painted with earthy and pink tones so that, seen from EPCOT, it would visually integrate with the Moroccan pavilion and not break the magic of the landscape.
Every lamp, every stained glass window, every column has a story. The Disney Imagineers took care of every corner to make the place feel real... even too real.

🕰️ Inside the Twilight Zone
As you enter the elevator, the atmosphere changes completely. The sound of the storm seeps through the walls, lights flicker, and a voice whispers, "You are about to enter... The Twilight Zone."
Suddenly, the elevator rises... and without warning, it falls. But not once, but several times.
The drop system changes on every ride, so no two experiences are ever the same. Every scream, every second of free fall, reminds you why this attraction is a classic that never gets old.
